It is very simple to explain, after installing any new TV or whenever we do automatic station search, the channels are not on the program slots where you want them and after that all tedious work starts, we move our favourite channels to the usual program slots one by one which is really cumbersome using Tv’s remote. ![]() sdx files (currently only satellite lists are supported) ITT, Medion, Nabo, ok., PEAQ, Schaub-Lorenz, Silva-Schneider, Telefunken: These brands use. ![]() Toshiba models in the “zip / chmgt.db” format such as RL, SL, TL, UL, VL, WL, XL, YL models of series 8xx/9xxas.Sony Android-TVs “sdb.xml” files using formats “FormateVer” 1.1.0 and KDL 2012/2014 files. ![]() Panasonic Viera models with a svl.bin or svl.db channel list.LG TVs of the years 2009 to 2014 (CS, DM, LA, LB, LD, LE, LH, LK, LM, LN, LS, LT, LV, LW, LX, PH, PM, PN, PT).Samsung TVs of the B, C, D, E, F, H, J, K, M, N, Q and R series or Samsung monitors integrated with TV tuner Series 3.In addition to that, it can support various channel list file formats from Philips, Sony, ITT, Medion, Nabo, ok., PEAQ, Schaub-Lorenz, Silva-Schneider, Telefunken, Hisense, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Toshiba and the Linux VDR project.ĬhanSort is meant to run on Windows platforms, thus it needs at least the Microsoft Framework 4.0 to work. Currently, other supported brands are LG, Toshiba and Panasonic. This Samsung channel list PC editor tool apart from supporting Samsung TVs also can be used with other Television channel lists. german umlauts) Philips: ServiceType now only shows TV or Radio. Philips: fixed display of symbol rate and frequency (off by factor 1000 depending of list and DVB source) Philips: fixed special characters in channel names (e.g. bin format (which is very unlikely to happen).ChanSort is an open-source Windows 10/8/7 application that can be used to sorts channels of TV models of different manufacturers. Philips: added support for ChannelMap45 format. xml file export and TV manufacturers to provide updates for the TV firmware - or MediaTek to disclose information about their proprietary. Long story short: It would require MediaTek to fix the broken. "Alden" (using a SQLite database file that can be edited with ChanSort) or TCL (also SQLite, but completely different structure, not yet supported by ChanSort). There are other brands with Android TVs that use an entirely different format, e.g. I do not have access to a MediaTek based Android TV and never received feedback, if the TV processes changes made to the. The channel_list.xml file that comes with these TVs can be edited with ChanSort, but the file only holds 4-8 characters for each channel name and if multiple sources are in use (DVB-T, DVB-S), it doesn't specify to which list a channel belongs. So far I received MediaTek based Android TV lists from Nokia, Xiaomi and Panasonic models. But unfortunately the current MediaTek file format used in Android TVs produces a text file that is broken in so many ways that it can't be used for anything meaningful. bin files that could be used to reorder the channels. In the past there was always a "readable" text file along side the encrypted. Unfortunately nobody except MediaTek knows how to read or write these files. They all export channel list files with the same proprietary compressed/encrypted ".bin" format that I have seen on 10yr old Philips TVs before that also use MediaTek chips. So while many brands offer "Android" TVs, the actual tuning and channel list export/import depends on the chip and its firmware.įrom what I have seen so far, Android TVs based on the Vestel platform use chips (and I assume also part of the firmware) from MediaTek. The tuner part and software for it is probably provided by the chip manufacturer. Android only covers aspects around the user interface and apps, but is agnostic of the low-level details around channel tuning and channel list imports/exports. I assume you can download the ChanSort source code, open the Visual Studio Solution (.sln) file and then change the Build Configuration to not build the 'ChanSort' (UI) project, but add your own project for the Philips loader and add a dependency to it in the ChanSort main project. It appears to me that many TV brands buy hardware from a few board manufacturers, which in turn buy parts and firmware from even fewer companies. To be honest, I have never tried it myself. My day job is not related to TVs or consumer electronics, so I don't have any reliable insights into the OEM market and making some assumptions here. The situation with Android TVs based on MediaTek chips (used by Vestel) is unfortunately grim.
